You are not far from where the Deep South Region of the North-South Skirmish Association has nearly all of its weekend events - Brierfield Ironworks State Park, south of Birmingham, Alabama. You are about 2.5 hours away, same as me (but I'm coming from Huntsville, AL).

We will be having a Camp of Instruction Recruit Skirmish July 19th, 2025. We'll be teaching basic firearm safety, how to load, fire, and clean a Civil War muzzleloading rifle, and have a simulated team event. Free lunch, too! The event is free, but space is limited so sign up fast to reserve your spot:

All teams in the region are looking for new shooters. You don't have to be a great shot to come out and have fun!
