I done one years ago, if memory serves me correctly, it requires a lot of work. I’m not sure of your skill set, but if I was in the market of getting a Fowler kit, I’d look hard at Kibler’s Fowler. The Kibler Fowler is pretty much a snap together kit ( from what I gather, is easier than my woodsrunner was) and can be assembled easily. It took me longer to sand and polish the brass and barrel than it did to assemble my Woodsrunner.

Not only is the Kibler fowling piece easier to assemble and finish, it has much better architecture and design, better lock and hardware, better looking barrel, better everything.

I know, but I’m poor. I’m trying to figure out a way. I can get my hands on a smooth bore Flintlock that is somewhat quality.

Per their websites, Track's fowling piece kit STARTS higher than a quick ship listed on Jim's website right now. You will also be light years ahead just in the lock.
