I’m looking for a decent used Pietta Spiller and Burr cylinder. Found one new @ Taylor’s $84.82, Dixie $85.25 pretty sure plus shipping and tax. Probably have to put them in my basket to find the total cost.
The cylinder that came with it is too short. Actually looks like it's been machined. The ratchet is also way different. The hand barely touches it.
Can't find a date code on it so I have no idea of the age.

TIA

Well it is a Pietta and an older one at that as it has their old style logo. I have no idea what that cylinder is, never seen one like it before. Quite likely you'll have to buy a new cylinder, loose S&B aren't too easy to find. If it locks up aligned with the bore you can shoot that one but you'll have a lot of side blast (I've shot far worse than that)

I thought about shooting it like that, but I'd have to shim it from the front so the hand will reach the ratchet.

About the only other option if you can't find a cylinder for it is to set the barrel back. It may not be worth the effort.

I have a cylinder from a newer S&B. It’s not an unfitted cylinder. It has already been fitted to a frame. If you’re interested just PM.

I don’t have a mic but I could try and measure the length for you to make sure it will fit.

The cylinder you have looks like home machined.

On this cylinder I have, that was my first impression that it was home machined.
It measures exactly 1-3/4" with a tape measure. The frame is about 1-13/16"
