have a nice older mountain rifle, one of the USA first editions.32” barrel rumored to be douglas , it has a 1:66 twist, factory adjustable rear sight with german silver blade front. has the 4 screw german silver patch box , german silver wedge plates and the six sided thimbles , browned barrel and hardware and to me a rather pleasing color to the stock.the ram road does not appear to be original but is proper length and seems fully functional. I did replace the nipple with a new cva ol’reliable nipple , I also replaced the drum clean out screw with a new old stock one I found on ebay as well as a new tang screw/bolt. i can’t say whether this rifle started its life as a kit or not but it does appear to have been redone at some point in time as someone has inlaid a brass/wood diamond in the forearm area. the set triggers work flawlessly as does the lock this rifle shoots really well, although i’m sure it could shoot even better if i had the experience and more time to finish working up a great load, i did come up with a decent load of 60grns pyrodex select, 0.018” pillow tick patch, .490 rb and moose snot. to me these old cva rifle just balance really nicely. I just have one to many at the moment (my ol lady’s words not mine hahah) my only reason for letting it go is i got more irons in the fire than i can handle and not near enough time to enjoy it the way it should be. i’m looking for 450$ that will include shipping cost. will take paypal , postal money order , personal check , or if your close to or willing to drive to southern West virginia I would be willing to meet possibly. will ship after payment has completely cleared. (if using postal money order i would like to ask if it would be possible to split the amount into 2 separate money orders as i live in a very rural part of WV and the last money order i went to cash at the local post office was a no go because of the amount, had to drive a few towns over to a bigger P.O just to cash)
