Rifle looks like it was not used much, nipples and bore look just fantastic on the other hand it looks like previous owner transported this gun in his car with no case or maybe this rifle simply was through a lot of gun shows, I'm saying this because there's some scratches on the barrel please see thouse areas circled. Other then that everything looks good including wood, locks work properly and in general craftsmanship of this rifles is way above the asking price

Lead Patched round ball I think is .560 w/.15 patch if memory is correct.

Bhn 12 cast with a 440gr watcher quenched REAL bullet

75 grains of Goex Black powder
I also have the Swiss.

Offhand its to 80 yards the Peep Apature sight produces actual no bs Baseball accuracy routinely. Some say that’s ok …i think it’s great.

I can do that with each barrel and one set of sites… this rifle dosnt have a set for each barrel.

What’s truly astonishing is.. the rifle shoots the PRBall and the Real bullet 100% equally well accuracy out to 80 yards. I could even use one in each barrel ,as the PRBall Would be a tad flatter shooting.

In addition to the aperture sight, there is a 3 leaf various elevated rear sight to reach out further. I have not tried that… yet it’s there to lob the Mable size Projectile out here.

Front sight is a aftermarket white dot that works exceptionally well in woods and with the Apature on deer. Yet out further I’d imagine a 6 o’clock hold would be needed as the dot would cover too much of the target for precise shot placement. With a 6 hold the point of impact directly at to of dot could assist out to say 130 yards perhaps.

With the long barrels.. I’ve read where these can considerable burn the full 120-140 grains some crazy fellas are shooting. I’m sure it was proof tested for a good bit more.

I’ve got no need for that power at this time because the 75 grains and the .58 PRBall should punch thru both sides of two deer standing side by side. Aldo with the harder lead 440 gr bullet it should punch thru a Grizzly, it Energy dump all that FT/lbs into the Beast.

I’ll develop further reaching accuracy loads or tinker with the leaf elevation sight to get further distance.. eventually.

Truth be told I got exceptionally lucky… as the First few shots ever with this rifle resulted with that load and a bullseye… and it didn’t stop out to 80 yards.

It’s one fun ass rifle I was. I was conserned it would be accurate as I read a bit as bout them not regulated to the sights and different charges needed.

It’s really one of my top most favorites.
The Leather sling. Took to Africa many years ago with the leather 1lbs powder holder and smaller misc leather container.

The Speed loader on side is need and is a double/double projectile black walnut loader.

It’s a Really neat Rifle.

I wish I bought that 58/12G barrel I once passed up. As it make a case for it all as a super combo.

So there ya have it.. a long winded explanation on my Rifle
