I saw recently that L & R is coming out with a new lock, especially for smaller American style guns, and since they don't currently offer a lock for the Pedersoli Kentucky/ Pennsylvania rifle (both models use the same lock), I'm wondering if this lock will work in Pedersoli's Kentucky rifles.

I don’t know what L&R puts that boss on the underside of the pan cover. At best it’s useless, but in reality all it does is compact your priming powder down, which is stupid. I have several of their locks and always grind off that protrusion.
I’ll have to agree with that. Dumbest thing I’ve seen , I remove it also.

I think they claim it “rain proofs” the pan.🙄

I’ve heard it’s for the “Friendship test” where someone can hold it up to the light and see if there’s any gaps between the frizzen and the pan.

That boss is the result of the friendship test haha. L&R owner got tired to people complaining at friendship OH about there being daylight between teh pan and frizzen.
