Pretty darn kool!

Giving me the itch to do something to my GPR Flintlock. I know it wouldn't look as nice as Olskool's, but the wheels are turning.

I reshaped the stock, especially the cheek rest. I took a pound of wood off this thing! I colored the wood and sealed it. I added a Hawken simi buck horn rear site. I don't know if this gun had ever been shot it was so clean, so i did! I zeroed it in at 50 yds. 75gr. of 2f it sings a pretty tune. Couldn't agree more. Harvesting is for vegetables and grains. If you have the animal in your grasp, it's called slaughtering. If you hunt it down with a weapon, it's killing. And if you do it bare handed, well...it's amazing, and you are a god.
When I moved to MT 30 years ago, as a refugee from this kind of silliness, I was disappointed to discover that some of this peta nonsense had slipped into my local area. At my kids' hunter safety qualification class, the instructor informed them that "harvest" was the new, inoffensive language. Then he let them know that they should not display their hunting trophy on the hood of a car, a roof rack or visibly in the back of a pickup because some people would find that offensive.
When we got out, I told the kids that it's killing or slaughtering and nothing else. And, by all means display that carcass. Cook its heart on the exhaust manifold if it helps to offend. We want to drive anyone offended by it right out of MT so they can vote somewhere else. And we would be doing the natives here a favor by doing so.
The only thing offensive about a deer on the hood of the car is the scratches the antlers might put in the paint. Some consider those scratches endeering.
My nephews once ratchet strapped an entire, gutted moose, frozen in a cold snap on their hunting trip, standing in the back of their pickup truck. It won 1st place as an All Montanan Outdoorsmen entry. [Ok, not really, but only because we don't have such an award... Yet.] SW

I have been calling out the nonsense of "harvesting" animals for a few years. I have even had people want to fight over it! on forums, this one included! I was called names and ridiculed over it! and believe me I have not forgot the ones that done it! years ago when this ignorance and bootlicking to the animal rights crowd started, I noticed they would call following a blood trail "sign" not blood! then it progressed into a harvest instead of a kill! WHAT A CROCK! I have had people tell me, well we should not say things to trigger the anti-hunters! we should try to get along with them, NO! THEY HATE YOUR GUTS! AND THEY WANT YOU GONE! you have to stand up to bullies not suck up to them! just ask Trump,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
