    melsnad like i said clairtons web site is very informative.as a suggestion for a load it seems like 50g of 3f is usually a good starting point for most 50cal. guns. try to stay as light as possible with the powder . no point in beating yourself up....pgh....

    after coming home from a walkthru shoot this past weekend i got a hankerin to make some stuff. first a kit to make a pan primer from antler. second a patch knife and sheif and anything elese you guys can suggest keep in mine i have limited experience.

    after cleaning all my brass furniture on my cabelas kentucky flintlock with brasso[i ran out of fritz]itried it down the barrel.the barrel shines like it never did before. did i do a good thing or a bad thing.if bad why.....

    Open sight arrangement?

    why do you think they make sights so you can adjust them. being dovetail or adj. no two peoples eyes are alike nor the way you may hold etc. etc.i believe you may be over reacting just a bit. just shoot the gun and enjoy the smokey ride....pghrich
