    First Flintlock Suggestion

Absolutely! Im saying just in general everybody company out there im sure has had atleast one or two bad guns produced but i dont believe you can completely rule them out because of that.. If thats the case then i bet every company would be out of business. But i do see his concern with the...

    First Flintlock Suggestion

I wouldn't not buy a particular product because there has been some problems with them. Thats like saying don't buy any Corvettes because one had a motor catch fire. I think some people might just get that bad apple or they misproperly have used it. If i were you id build a really good one...

Stuck ball but with a twist

What im going to do tomorrow(since i live next to about 6acres of woods) im going to cut up a homemade gun rest out of foam that came in the new tv box, rest it in there. Tie rap the barrel and rear stock to the ground using tent stakes. I took a 1/4" extremely long extention and put a bolt in...

Stuck ball but with a twist

Ill try 15g of 4f. The reason i want to use the grease as a last resort because thats going to be so messy if i have to come back later and try shooting the ball again. I was going to go to the hardware store today and make a homemade ramrod/screw remover but shooting it out seems a bit more...

Stuck ball but with a twist

Stuck ball but with a twist

The plug looks really clean although i put penetrating oil all over it and even in the morning the oil never went down so im afraid to try taking that part out as it might break off that hook bolt looking part like it did on my other gun...

Stuck ball but with a twist

Stuck ball but with a twist

I tried blowing it out when plugged. I also tried the homemade screw. If there is lubricant in the barrel, can i still shoot it? If so im going to add 5grains of FFFFG im going to make an attempt at shooting it out. What would happen if i didnt plug the hole but shot the ball the way it was...

Stuck ball but with a twist

Why do i feel im going to need to have a few Heinekin's after this day.. hah. The gun is with me and not him so i promised id get it out. Also i thought maybe getting a long drill bit and just chip away at the ball until enough of it is weak and falls apart. I thought they made maybe bigger...

Stuck ball but with a twist

No i honestly did not do this, this was a veteran shooter in fact who is stumped. After a successful hunt yesterday, my friend decided not to shoot the ball out and take it back to camp. Well he used my extractor(screw end) to take the ball out and it drilled right thru the ball. Not the ball...

i broke my breech plug! :-(

I was told this part was called a breech plug and that it needed to be removed for cleaning by the Gander Mtn guy. However, he was wrong and i broke my barrel. But ****, the only way to learn is by mistakes. I did however just order some books and a DVD. I really want to learn these guns...
