    Conicals or powerbelts?

I heard maxiballs are fairly hard and don't expand well, but penetrate much better than hunters. Any truth to that?

    Conicals or powerbelts?

You know I have only taken a few deer with roundball, and thats been years ago, but didn't get a passthru very much. And bloodtrail was not what I would have liked. So I switched to maxihunters and got pretty good passthrus, lots of blood and nice exit wound but groups sucked at 50 yards. I...

    Conicals or powerbelts?

Thanks guys, I just got a order of wads in and plan on some serious roundball/conical tests this weekend. Looking for a good ligher conical. I think buffalo ball makes one.

    Conicals or powerbelts?

I agree, but conicals are just about as primative as roundballs are concerned. Just thought it was strange someone shooting powerbelts in a 1 in 48 twist.

    Conicals or powerbelts?

First off, I hate powerbelts. I hated them in my inlines. But recently have been having trouble getting my TC hawken 1 in 48 twist shooting maxihunters. I just got some 320 maxiballs and will try them. Would 370 be more appropiate? Some suggested powerbelts. Kinda sounded wierd to me...

Putting a little powder under your nipple?

Once again, I am not saying I get misfires all the time. I think I got one once like 10 years ago in my percussion TC. Again, what I am asking is for PEOPLE who have put some powder under thier nipple, did it affect accuracy?

Putting a little powder under your nipple?

Thanks Deadeye. finally, someone who has been there and done it. But, but, I am surprised no problem on accuracy. Reason I say this, is now you have changed the ignition some.

Putting a little powder under your nipple?

Pitts, if you ML hunt long enough, sooner or later you might have a misfire. Its just the way it is. Hey nothing wrong with discussing. Pitts, have you ever did any experiements with accuacy or anything or tried it?

Putting a little powder under your nipple?

Does anyone on here put a little powder (maybe small amounts of FFFFg or even ffg) under the nipple to ensure fire? Did it affect accuracy?

How many leave sidelock half cocked

How many leave there sidelock half cocked or all the way cocked while stand hunting say for like 5 hours at a time? Did your spring ever wear out keeping it cocked.

Good Cleaner for matte silver furnature

Well, unfortunatley this gun was not taken care of. alot of this black has been on here for a long time. I was going to take a bras brush, but think it would make situation worse. I am going to get the barrel reblued I believe.

Good Cleaner for matte silver furnature

Sorry should have been more specific. The silver lock, and hammer. Its a blued barrel just like yours. Just some staining from the primer going off.

Good Cleaner for matte silver furnature

Below the nipple I should say on the silver matte section. I was using remington No11s

Good Cleaner for matte silver furnature

I just fired off some PRB's in my Cougar. Its not like my other T/C hawken with brass. Near the nipple, I can't seem to remove the powder marks? And she is so pretty and would like to keep her that way.

    Set Trigger on T/C hawken

Its on that T/C Cougar, so I imagine at least 15 years old. Maybe.

    Set Trigger on T/C hawken

Thanks, I am very fimiluar with all the locktite brands since I have had Harleys for a long time. You either learn to use it or things start falling off. It would look like one could put a nice spring under it to keep it under tension.

    Conicals or PRB?

I used to use maxihunters with limited success. I kept my distances to 50 yards with a tc hawken. Which do you prefer out of a 1/48 twist? Its been over a decade since i used a PRB.

    Set Trigger on T/C hawken

My screw on my T/C hawken if very loose. You can turn it by hand. Is that normal? Has anyone put a spring or something in there to keep it put a little better?
