    Well, I think I did pretty good with my 2 rifles. First one I found at a pawn shop. CVA Hawkens, 31" barrel, I walked out with it for $130. My killer deal was at a gun show. New in box(missing manual,instruction book and warped ramrod, never been put together kit) for $75. Spent about a week...

    More flint questions for the novice

    You know, after reading these stories, a case of "Garand Thumb" would seem rather trivial. I have 2 percusion rifles now. I may have to keep an eye out for a flintlock to add to the collection.

    Just stopped by to say Hello.

    Joined up a few days ago. Came over from the CVA site, as some others have. I have 2 CVA rifles, both St. Louis Hawkens in 50 cal, last one I built from a kit. Still haven't gone out to shoot them, but the itch is there, especially with the nice weather we're having here.
