    Feral Cats & Dogs!!!

Around here on the farm I keep the cat population down to about 4 and we don't have much of a dog problem because we all will shoot a dog that chases animals on our own property, especialy deer. But I don't go hunting for them.I love most all animal, it's the owners that should be stump hung...

    32 Cal

Zonie Thats what I was actually looking for was the numbers. So what I have surmized is keep the shots below 75 and mostly at 50, Small game under coyote size like all those pesky porkypines that are killing all my pine trees and tin cans up to a 1 liter. Sounds like fun and thanks every one...

    32 Cal

after reading RLowe's thread I was reminded that I have always wanted a 32 Cal rifle. My question is what are they capable of at 100 yards and at fifty yards, would they do a coyote and does the rifle come in a plinking size rather then those mile long kane tuck rifles.??? Bob

    what constitutes a "Blanket Prize"?

I have had this question asked of me a number of times because I have thrown together a number of shoots. I don't put a doller limit on it because I try to encourage the prizes to be home made of the time period and something that they would want if they came in first. Usually the shooters that...

    When Hunting.........

If I'm out in the field for a couple of weeks camping I take the poss. bag. If I only have a day to hunt I will travel light and take the speed loaders. I can load about as fast out of my bag though as I can with speed loaders so it's only a matter of bulk and weight. Bob

    What do I need?

The one thing that will happen eventualy is you will forget to put your powder in before the ball so you can use a scew jag but there are better ways to get that old ball out of there. Also it seems like you have the desire, the other thing is to have or make a friend that is already an...

oNE THREAD SAID IF ALL YOUR GOING TO HUNT IS WHITETAIL THE 50 IS OK. tHAT IS TRUE, but in several states some seasons overlap and if you run into a bear the 54 would be my choise. Bob

    Discouraging start to muzzleloading

after reading your thead I wasn't sure why you put your barrel in water because it was still loaded. Unscrew the nipple and put a little powder in , make sure the nipple hole is clear and screw it back in, recap it and fire. Bob

    Lubed patches

I was using that yellow bore butter and afterwards I found that when it got really cold I could not even get it out of the tube. It works really well for cleaning but I wish it didn't smell like a french Wh--- so spit now works great for me and have never had that problem since. Bob

    MUZZLELOADING QUIRKS! ! !

My quirk is to invite a bunch of my other hunting friends that don't understand why anyone would want to shoot under a hundred yards with iron sight, to a turkey shoot with my other hunting friends that shoot BP. We will out shoot the modern rifles at 50 yards most every time and it realy bugs...

    What draws you?

I like the smell of black powder, the simplicity of the rifle, better hunting season and I never met a Plack Powder hunter I didn't like. I can't say the same for modern firearms. Also the steadyness of the rifle because of the weight. My biggest fear is the technowlegy of BP weapons turning it...

    Loading the single shot pistol??

I have the same gun and all I can say is get a grip. Well I could say more like when you hold just above and between your knees, sandwitch it between a couple of layers of intertube. It won't slip and will protect your legs from getting sore. I was able to run across a piece of quarter inch...

    Lubed patches

I would like to see if any one else has had this problem. When I first started muzzle loading I read all the info I could get and it all poited to prelubed patches. When I tryed them on a cold day it was very frustrating. I could not hit the broad side of a barn.I went back to spit patches and x...

    T/C 54 Cal Hawken

In my 54 t/c I have went from 70 to 120, I would not recommend 120. I ended up with 80 fffg because that is where I got my best accurasy and it turned out to be a great hunting load out to 100 yards with plenty of knock down power and just a shove for recoil. When I sighted it in at 50 yards it...

    Antler Handle

Your tang is probably a rectangle so drill a hole just a wee bit smaller then the tang. Get some clear apoxy and mix some antler dust with it and poor in the hole then jamm the tang into it.when you do this make sure the point is down on some wood and you knock the horn with a wood mallet. It...
