Interesting long knife at auction. Relic or recreation?

That's the sheath. Its a center seam with a flap and a hole for a thong. I took a bunch of pictures and posted a link to them. Is it working?

Interesting long knife at auction. Relic or recreation?

I was at a local auction house and this found this knife. It really looks the part of a period long knife that saw hard use. Or is it a well done and well used replica? I may place a token bid, but there are enough sharks around this auction, I'm sure it will go for more. The handles look...

Just bought 40 pounds of shot that got left out in the rain. How do I dry it out?

I went back this morning and the full bag a 7 1/2 was still there. I hemmed and hawed and its going to to get rained on again before I get back. Some one else got a huge sheet of 1/4 inch soft lead, and then someone told me that was the stuff to grab. But I'll keep checking back.

Just bought 40 pounds of shot that got left out in the rain. How do I dry it out?

I just picked up 3 partial bags of shot that had been in a bucket for a couple days with 2 inches of water in the bottom. Is there anything in particular I can do to prevent it all from oxidizing?

Hello from the Eastern Shore of MD

Hi all, I'm circling back on an old interest. I was an arm chair fan of all things historical trekking 20 years ago and for some reason, recently got the bug to pick up a Jeff White French trade knife and discovered that Mr. White has retired. Pity. But was already down the the rabbit hole...
