    How Indian flintlocks are made

In Belfast PA The Henry gun factory was located. There is a street close by named Filetown. Supposedly this is where the people who filed gun parts for the Henry company lived. I would tend to think that with a bunch of individuals filing out parts there had to be a bit of variance in the parts...

    Paper cartridges

I also use a 575 ball with 70 gr. of 3f . I bought an art paper tablet for the cartridges. The paper is fairly stiff, I use it because it stands up to rough handling. I get a 4 to 5 inch group at 50 yds.

Hey guys, this is meant in jest. If we can't laugh at ourselves, we're missing a lot.

This is why I use a smoothbore, a lot easier to knock the can off of the post.😁

What Muzzleloading Stuff Did You Do Today?

Spent about 2 hrs. at the Gun makers Fair yesterday. Met Bld.Trailer and bought some of his flints, very reasonable. I watched his demo, the man knows what he is doing. Learned a lot about knapping. Had to leave as my back gave out, so I stopped at Dixon's on the way home to pick up some Goex. I...

    Looking for gunsmith for shotgun.

I remember reading about using a Brownell's choke hone years back. It required their inside barrel caliper, it looked like an X with precision ground ends. You put this X inside the barrel and measured the end sticking out with a micrometer. It also required a watch with a second hand to time...

Some years back when I read that you could be fined for leaving the skin, bones, and head of a harvested deer in the woods, I called the game commission. My question to them was who do they write the ticket out to when a deer dies of natural causes in the woods? Couldn't get an answer from them...

    Idea Help

To shorten the barrel I first marked mine with a plumbing pipe cutter. I followed that line with a hack saw. Then checked the squareness of the cut with a 3" machinists square. For soldering parts I use Brownell's Hi-Force 44. It only needs a propane torch. I like working with wood, much easier...
