Looking for info on my remington arms single shot muzzleloading pistol

Though the lock may possibly be by Remington. The pistol appears to be a hand build. Good looking but not really a professional built piece

    1841 Mississippi questions, (Pedersoli)

I’d try and find a good original one. With that, you have the correct rifling

Plenty on eBay. Just put in linen thread and up they all come

    Holland and Holland Identification

De Witt Bailey is not dead. He is not a well man, but definitely alive. I’ve camped and shot with him for many years.

    Holland and Holland Identification

What a boastful post. Made me laugh a bit actually. For all of the stuff you’ve got, one is a Holts card. All you have to do, is ask for one! I’m sorry, but I’d back Rudyard knowledge against yours, any time. He knows his stuff and that’s not just from me knowing the man, but also his expertise...

Help with Jäger Rifle .62 Loads

hi Rudyard. Just thought I’d show you as a matter of interest. This is the makers mark. No written name. It is actually iron mounted. I love it. Stay safe.Simon

Help with Jäger Rifle .62 Loads

How about this one Rudyard. About 1720 ish. Left handed, but with right side lock. Simon

    Pattern 1776 or Baker kit

I don’t find that the lock or cheek piece causes any problems shooting left handed. I’ve been doing it for nearly 50 years, without trouble. As to which gun, I just like the 1776 more.

    A CANOE & A BLANKET GUN.

There are many photos of short barrelled trade guns and muskets, but they werent built that way. Cut down for whatever reason. They certainly weren’t called by either of those names

    Cast your own, shrinkage?

Hope it all works out for you. Please let us know

    Cast your own, shrinkage?

If your barrel is around .610, I would have gone for a .600 ball and a 15 thou patch. That’s just my opinion and worth what I charge for it. Lol

    Roundball and bullet lube

Just rub a little neat murphys on the patch. Turn it over on the muzzle, so it’s murphys side down. set ball on top and ram home. Nothing complicated. If I’m shooting a comp, the patches are all lubed and put in my shooting bag together. . It doesn’t seem to matter if the Murphys soaks right...

    Roundball and bullet lube

It’s amazing how these threads keep coming up and just as amazing how many lubes there are used. Personally, I use neat Murphys oil soap. Good accuracy and very little fouling

    Storing led round balls

I don’t worry about corrosion or oxidisation. Doesn’t seem to affect accuracy much. I’ve been casting and shooting lead ball now for 49 years. I just keep them in plastic or glass jars. As long as you don’t keep eating them you’ll be fine!

Heavy barrel flintlock. Attempting to ID

No. You are absolutely right Rudyard. It was Queen Ester. Old rustaway, was another one, thank you for that. Regards Simon

Heavy barrel flintlock. Attempting to ID

Rudyard, maybe the long lever type trigger, like Lizard had on old rustaway, would be suitable. A bit like a crossbow lever. Simon

    Ballistol

I use Murphys as my shooting lube. Then I only need water to clean with

    Hatfield rifle

1986 should be Hatfield, rather than Pedersoli, I believe. Mine has the number on the angled flat near the breech. Good guns. Good barrels. Mine is very accurate
