Lots of great advice here. Don't forget I'm coming from USPSA. Our splits need to be under .03 of a second. We definitely don't "follow through " for 3 seconds. Ok so tell me how you hold the gun steady on target during recoil or "follow through "The gun is laying on palm or fingers not gripped. Is the right hand pulling the gun into shoulder? This is way different than shooting an AR.- Mark E. Prickett

Well yet again my 1858 Pietta has let me down. Less than 50 rounds through the gun and the lock tab for the loading lever popped off when I shot it.
