What did I do?
I’m in the process of working on a CVA Kentucky rifle and read something here about soaking the lock in vinegar to remove the case hardened look. Well the overnight soak accidentally turned into TWO days in vinegar and now the frizzen, pan, and hammer all have developed a course dark texture...- Dicel87

Finished my Traditions Kentucky rifle kit
That's a good looking rifle Sir! Curious as to how you removed the case hardening color though - file? sandpaper? chemical strip? The faux color hardening on the lock was removed and blued to a dark black color.- Dicel87

For all those concerned about the 2 piece stock and spacer, I wonder if a full stock version Hawken stock would be a close enough match to move all the Traditions Kentucky rifle hardware over to with some minor tweaking of course.- Dicel87
