    A couple of horns

I'd love to try a black horn myself. Kinda like a "scratchboard" if you've ever tried one. You have to think "backwards" while you're working. I've never used ink on my scrims, but use a black crayon instead. If you make a mistake you can always scratch it back out of the line and continue on.

    A couple of horns

I'll have to give the exacto knife a try the next time. Now to find some nice white horn.

    A couple of horns

Wondering what those of you that scrimshaw, use for the scratching. I used a sewing needle on these, but now use an old dental pick.

    Old T/C Locks

Yes they will IF there's a problem with it that cannot be fixed. I had a lock that I sent to the recently from the early 70's that was broken and they replaced it free of charge with a brand new one. JP

    Best Hunting Projectile?

I've shot one using another type of ML (the "I" word  ) with 150 grains of pyrodex and a Hornady 300 XTP bullet and it blew right through the deer and dropped it like it was struck by lightning. I can't tell you how that bullet expanded cause it probably traveled through two more states...

    Best Hunting Projectile?

Wished I could stuff one down my .50 cal bore! I'm shooting a .490 roundball now, but wondered if a conical or saboted pistol bullet would perform better. WF

    Best Hunting Projectile?

What do you folks think the best performing bullet is for ML hunting? I'm looking for maximum expansion, deep penetration and maximum weight retention. Thanks JP

    50 cal bore - 2f or 3f?

I've never given 2f much of a tryout yet. I may do some experimenting this summer. 3F has always shot well for me, so I'll probably just stick with it. PS...Hunter66, I just noticed you're from Coraopolis. I'm about 16 miles west of Beaver. Having any luck in the Pa flintlock season yet? WF

    50 cal bore - 2f or 3f?

First post...I've shot muzzleloader for 30 years now and grew up shooting 4f in the pan and 3f in the barrel. I've been seeing lately that the 3f is for .45 cal and smaller and 2f is better for .50's and up. Is there any truth to this and what would the advantages be? Better velocities, less...
