FOR SALE Early 45 Cal Great Plains Rifle

I don't think Lyman made any investarms rifles, I believe investarms made them for Lyman, and cabelas, and this wischo company. I could be wrong but I have spoken to the guy that started Branson arms, and basically back then you could approach most Italian makers and have your name put on the...

FOR SALE Early 45 Cal Great Plains Rifle

I have never seen a WISCHO marked rifle by INVESTARMS but they did make rifles for several retailers. AI date code would make this rifle a 1982 model.

    Opinions on Carbine size

simply gorgeous rifle! I have a "deerstalker" marketed by Cabelas back in the day and also sold by lyman, investarms. mine even has a rubber buttpad, but the rest is all hawken, but it has all blacked steel hardware instead of brass. Another oddity is the checkering but it is a beautiful little...

the perfect after cleaning bore oil?

I have used wonderlube forever, I have found it will "season" a barrel like hog fat seasons a cast iron skillet. over time using it for lube as well as a wipedown/swab will result in shiny clean bores that resist corrosion. I dont normally use anything petroleum on my BP shooters

    Ardesa Rifles

Ardesa is the name of a town in Spain. Some of the most accurate inexpensive rifles I have ever owned were made there. early CVA rifles were made in Ardesa Spain.

Shot some steel with the .58 CVA today

the problem with the .45 CVA mountain rifle kit with USA barrel and maple stock is that it is a catch 22. The kit is worth more money sealed than the assembled rifle. Admittedly a factory maple stock and USA marked barrel in a long discontinued model with the kind of lineage the CVA Mountain...

Shot some steel with the .58 CVA today

nice rifle. I have a couple .58 rifles, one is a hawken flintlock, the other is an underhammer. I always loved the CVA mountain rifle. I have a 1974 kit with the USA marked barrel and the maple wood stock in .45, still sealed in the cellophane. I used to have an H&R springfield stalker in .58. I...

    .50 cal round Ball

I have killed many deer with a .490 patched round ball.

Is the 36 caliber becomming extinct?

I believe the .375 balls are for the .36 cal revolvers, not for a patched round ball application. balls for a 36 cal rifle are .350

dont you just love laws that make you a criminal if you "can" commit the crime, not if you actually commit a crime.

    Wonder Wads

only chain fire I ever had was due to crappy remington caps. Fingers McGee once had a chart that showed actual sizes of the brands of caps. one size does not fit all in this case!
