    Lyman pistol load

One of the restrictions i have with shooting low charges is that the lyman has a powder channel that is narrower than the barrel. I need to make sure that is full. I haven't measured the charge i need to fill this accurately yet, but on a guess where i filled it from one of my pre-measured...

    Lyman pistol load

Sorry about the thickness. it is 10/1000's. The gun loads fairly easily with these patches.I do have about 500 fiber wads, they are about 5/6mm thick and unlubed. Would it be okay to use those? Maybe cut them in half and lube them? Or should i just use a patch as an overpowder wad and then the...

    Lyman pistol load

Hi guys, I shot my 50cal Lyman pistol for the first time yesterday. After collecting some of my patches I noticed that i am getting holes in my patches, from what research i have done, it indicates that gases are blowing holes in the patch. One recommendation was to use hornet nesting...

    Lyman pistol question

For any future readers of this post. The tube i refered to, is definitely part of the gun. Apart from the post above indicating that it is, lyman customer service also confirmed this for me. Thanks again

    Lyman pistol question

Thank, the grub screw is in, but thats on the side of the barrel, the tube is inside. I think i may have found the answer. From Lyman instruction booklet. "The powder channel inside the breech plu is smaller than the bore diameter and doesn't allow the cleaning jag to enter. Lyman recommends...

    Lyman pistol question

Hi Guys. I just bought a lyman plains pistol and while inspecting the barrel i noticed what appears to be a tube in the bottom of the barrel. it is an inch or so deep and about 2 mm thick. The hole from the percussion cap nipple is open. Its best guess is about in inch in length. Is this...

    Pedersoli question

I own a SxS 12ga pedersoli, and was interested in the history of this gun. I know from the pedersoli site that the gun is a replica of an english gun. Does anyone know what english gun/maker and what period? It would be nice to know. Thanks in advance

    Mixing shot?

    Mixing shot?

Would it make a huge difference in my shooting patterns if i mix my shot sizes. I hunt for groundbird and doves/pigeon together and it makes sense to me to mix #5 & #7 and maybe #6 & #7. It is should give me the best of both worlds. Some heavier pellets for bigger birds and more pellets for...

    pedrsoli Over powder cards?

Follow the link and click on the "loading and shooting a muzzleloader". About the last fifth shows how to load a shot gun. The way the guy angles the cards is how i manage to get them in my gun. Hope this helps. http://www.cva.com/media/bp101.html

    Shot Question

Well i will be testing on birds this weekend. One of these days when the excitement wears off a little i will get to the range and start with some patterning. At this stage though my testing will have to be at moving targets, namely rock pidgeons doing about Mach 2 over the sunflowers...
