our 54 cal. Woodsrunner arrived today

Geez, look at that curl! I got a tracking number earlier today. It's almost better not to know it's on the way. Double-whammy: Waiting for your first Kibler to show up at the same time you're waiting to hear from the Air Force Academy on whether your kid got in!

    Recommendations for Chisel Set?

Hi, I've built several lower-end kits and have managed to do them without needing a proper set of woodworker tools. I build wood RC planes, so I've got plenty of X-acto tools and such, but not much in the way of chisels. Is there a good set that people recommend for rifle-building?

    Removable Touch-hole Liner on Kibler?

Hi, Well, although I fancy myself a pretty clever/resourceful guy, I'm not so smart that I can't learn from the wisdom or experience of others. Removing a liner seems logical to me. I've done it literally EVERY time I've cleaned my Pedersoli rock-locks. Out it comes, gets cleaned to a bright...

You REALLY want to ship to California??

Hi Ok, I understand now. I guess I'm an outlier on low recruitment/retention theories. I have friends who are still on the job and they complain about all the scrutiny and recriminations. I don't see it that way for the most part. Frankly, if I were king-for-a-day, I'd make it law that your...

    Removable Touch-hole Liner on Kibler?

Hi I'm probably in that category. When I first got into BP, I ruined a gun or two by not cleaning properly. Since then, anything that CAN come apart does when I clean. These guys that say they don't take the barrel off? That blows my mind because with my son's Kentucky (kit-built), we can...

You REALLY want to ship to California??

Again, my decoder ring must be on the fritz. No idea what that means, lol. I'm in a whole different line of work now, and haven't looked back.

You REALLY want to ship to California??

As a former LEO in CA, I must confess that I have no idea what you might be talking about.

You REALLY want to ship to California??

Hehe, Well, I wasn't so much looking for business advice about who to buy from as I was pointing out that this notion of buying/selling BP guns in this state is mostly BS. To your point, you 'heard' something about 'Liberal Counties' that thousands of people probably heard from the same water...

    Where have you heard that?

You REALLY want to ship to California??

I've negotiated a deal over email and everything was very smooth and friendly until I gave my address for shipping. Suddenly, I got an earful of chants and conspiracy theories and extreme party politics. Followed by a hard rewind on the deal! One guy even told me I could only have the gun (a...

    Removable Touch-hole Liner on Kibler?

Ha! That sounds amazing. If I tried that, I imagine I'd pull the barrel off and find a whole next of rust monsters living in there. I get water everywhere when I clean, so my rifles usually get broken completely down and cleaned after every outing.

    Removable Touch-hole Liner on Kibler?

Thanks, I guess force-of-habit perhaps. I've always been a little hesitant about threaded steel parts exposed to water seizing up with rust over time. I take the liner out and clean it like any other moving part. Consequently, the liner is as bright and shiny in my Pedersoli rifles as they...

    Removable Touch-hole Liner on Kibler?

Hmm... Well, color me a screw-up, then. I've been removing mine for cleaning about every-other-time I've cleaned my rifle for the last 35 year.... :(

    Removable Touch-hole Liner on Kibler?

Hi, I'm about to pull the trigger on a Kibler Colonial. I've watched all the available YouTube on the builds, and I notice the permanent placement of the touch-hole liner. On most of my factory-built rock-locks, the liner is removable. I like this. Is there any downside to grinding a slot...

You REALLY want to ship to California??

Sorry, but this is mostly just silly nonsense. The only REAL issue shipping BP guns to California is the attitude of people who think because they don't like California's politics, shipping a BP gun there is going to bring the gub'mint down on their heads. Frankly, it's tiresome. Here's how...
