    dats a good question , it depends on how bad you shoot :rotf: ,but in general , I have 5 rounds all ready in my ball block to use for deer and tree rats .

    I have a traditions deer hunter in .32 , tree rats fear it . Its a tack driver using 20 grains of fffg , I can put all shots in one ragged hole smaller than a quarter at 25 yards . Its a great rifle for the money .

    I have gm .54 1:70 twist on my tc hawken , and I tell you it can shoot , I use 90 grains of 2f , home made roundball , lube , pillow ticking patch, at 50 yards it will place all the shots in one ragged hole .

    what I do is use candle smoke for lube , when pouring keep the handles tight , I'll make 10 round balls then let the mold cool down and start up again ( this keeps the mold from getting over hot )

    I got a 54 cal wiff 2 barrels , one is 1-48 inch twist its ok for round ball or minnie ball the other barrel i have for it is a green mountain barrel wiff 1-70 inch twist, by far the 1-70 inch twist is better , lots more accurate for me .

    you need some plug screws , and I think the last two numbers of the serial numbers is the date , just call traditions or look them up on the web , dont know if theres markings telling it was a kit or not , hope diss helps some

    well I removed 1/2 coil off the spring and honed it down a little bit , got it all back together and its a lot better than it was , still a little hard but I can live wiff it , thanks so much for all the info on what to do :hatsoff:

    Hunting Guns?

    mine has dents , scrachs etc , but it still shoots good , I think it adds class to the rifle , and history , as I look on some of the dents , scars etc it brings back memorys of hunting and what the rifle has harvested and good times in the field wiff it.
