New at flint locks. Got a flint from TOW:
(French amber gun flint, 7/8 x 1" for Fowler, Jaeger, Tulle, Twigg, Hatfield, Chambers locks)
I put it in and It won't spark. Just scratches the frizzed. What did I do wrong?

Yes, it's mine. It's not new but I have the box and it has a molded plastic tray that it sits in. So it's not too old. I did get the trigger and hammer to work with a little WD-40. It's made in Italy.
I got this from a friend. It says it's a black powder tester but the instructions did not come with it. Anyone know how it works? It's gummed up and the trigger and hammer do not work. Have to open it up and take a look.

Why not cast the balls with dimples like a golf ball then it wouldn't matter where the sprue was and it would travel much farther because of non-laminar airflow. :thumb:
Does yours have the Ted Cash (TDC) makers mark stamped on it? I believe TOW's are made by Ted Cash and have his makers mark on it. Mine does.
