    groundhogs

Some of the guys at our club talk of a member, that is no longer a member, that hunted groundhogs with glass marbels in his smoothbore. I dont know the fellow or the particulars but would guess you would get some pretty high velocities and the ball would shatter when hard objects were hit. I...

    Roundball penetration

Comparing an arrow to a bullet is like compareing apples to oranges. Arrows kill because they are sharp and hopefully cut major arteries and vains in vital organs for a quick kill. A bullet kills buy shock that destoys vital tissue. An arrow with a field point may be drivien through an animal...

    Roundball penetration

I agree with what you say about using larger calaber ball being better. Just the larger hole that they make evan not taking in expansion or the extra energy it carries makes it ovious. I was just saying that if a ball travels through the vitals and is laying under the skin that it has done...

    Roundball penetration

If you think about it your resaults are exactly what you want. By remaining in the deer all of the balls energy is transfered to the deer. If the ball happens to go completly through the deer some of the energy is wasted. Besides it is always neet to recover the ball just to look at for...

    Question For Double Barrel Shooters

Speaking of uncapping the unfired barrel what is the best way. I usually use my pocket knife but this usually damages the cap too much or flips it out into the grass to never be found again. I know the cost of a cap isnt too awful much but waste not want not. Berk

    Wood filler question

I have been told that you can add artist oil paint (burnt umber in the tube) to epoxy to color it. I have not tried this so you might want to do a test piece before putting it on a stock. Berk
