    I have several access heritage northwest trade rifles. You have too pull breech plug, notch it and drill vent, i dun it with a hand drill and dremel, so cant be that dificult? Work fine other than locks aint best...

    Just speculation on my part, but thinking a butt plate not really neccessary unless u going to use it to cave in someones head after the shot... use it for a club, I mean plain wood easier on shoulder than metal? Just a thought & backed up not at all lol

    Well, I finally got around to converting this ole penn rifle. Done it just like Zonie said & came off without a hitch. It also fires EVERY TIME you pull the trigger, lol. Good deal, and thank you all for the input.

    Two Feathers, go to your local John Deere dealer, & ask em for a green tractor without the John Deere stuff on it, lol. Everything made has some stamp/ logo on it... Too often " Made in China".

    I have a .45 penn rifle(cap lock, soon to be flint), a .62 cal nwtg, a traditions trapper pistiol .50 (cap lock, again soon to be changed)... but point is i use 3f goex in all... 4f in pan... caps on the caps, but im believing to think... if it works, in your gun... WHAT WORKS... is so kool...

As to converting it back, the percusion lock is going in the trash where it belongs lol. If i had to guess...

That said, i have a traditions .45 caplock, that shoots where its pointed, my bad eyes open group to 5 inches, young eyes can do clover... My question is the lock totally sucksssss. Dun pop...

    Not new to black powder, 84ish, yuh prefer the real bp by the way. Am brand new to rock locks, donating my caps to son in law...if that means anything. Been following the forum quite a while... and thank you all, couldn't of done it without you
