Colt Dragoon Nipple Wrench
I did google it, and found it at several places. So there is only one size right, and it fits the dragoon? I didn't see anybody showing "large" or "small" sizes for it. -

thanks, smokin' & mykeal. The reminds me, the nipple wrench that I bought that isn't deep enough for my dragoon... I used the screwdriver end to tighten a few screws on the revolver. Some screws were so loose they freely turned. I BARELY tightened them... just so they would not freely turn... -

I went in to my local BP shop and told them I had a new uberti dragoon and needed a few supplies, including a nipple wrench. They sold me a "Revolver Nipple Wrench" and said it was the correct one. It was a Traditions I think. Turns out it won't fit over the nipples... its not deep enough to... -

Early T/C Hawken Barrels
my t/c hawken is from the early 70s. It's not at my house now so I can't look at it. I only remember the Thompson name and .50 caliber on the barrel, though. Not even a "Black Powder Only" on the barrel... :grin:- Bender

Is this the same company? my local store carries BP accessories (patches, wads, etc) by Muzzleloader Originals. However, on the web, most BP sites talk about Ox-Yoke Originals... Packaging looks similar. I ordered some Ox-Yoke revolver wads from TotW today, but I already have a bag of wads...- Bender

been reading a book by Sam Fadala. He spells it "accouterments". I've know all my life that it is "accoutrements". thought it was weird that "Mr. Muzzleloader" spells it differently than the rest of the world. A-cooter-ments just doesn't sound right :hmm:- Bender

Set Triggers on T/C Hawken
I also bought a used tc hawken. So far, I've just been shooting with the front trigger. I tried the rear set trigger once, but it made the front trigger a ridiculously light hair trigger. Going by the instructions in the above posts, if you wanted the front trigger to be less of a hair...- Bender

I love the look of the Original Finish Cimarrons, including the "pitting", but yeah, you would not want the bore pitted also... :( I'll keep that in mind next time I look at them. The store had one Orig. Finish revolver, can't remember which one, but it was quite expensive (for me)... -

I tried the haggling bit, but I only got "sorry we don't do that...". I'm going to pass on the display model 3rd dragoon. While I was there, I picked up a Cimmaron catalog... been looking at it tonight. Man those "original finish" revolvers look great!! too bad Cimarron doesn't have the 3rd...
