    A Brace of .44s

I do use the over-powder wads. I have some .457 Buffalo Bullet conical revolver bullets on order to try. I'm thinking now that I should slug the chambers and bore. Thank you all for the information. If you ever find anyone selling .460-.465 round balls, please let me know. Thanks again.

    A Brace of .44s

Here's the gun: http://www.dixiegunworks.com/product_info.php?products_id=4098&osCsid=518171498d68c81001e2eb53a6fd2562 I bought a showroom sample from them for a lot less. A .457 Hornady or Speer ball fits the cylinder without shaving any lead. In the reviews, someone recommends .464 balls...

    A Brace of .44s

Each has its own case. Just put them together to get their pictures taken. The Colt shoots like a champ with .451 balls. The Remington is a bit of a challenge. .457 balls are just too small and there isn't much (if anything) available in a slightly larger size.

    Memorial Day at the Range

I've been shooting .22 Mag in my Ruger Single Six for a month now, 2 times a week, 50-100 shots each time, one hand hold. I'm still lucky to get one out of 6 in the circle. Maybe I'll put the .22 LR cylinder on. Definitely need to spend more time with the Colt 1851. Made my son run to the...

    Memorial Day at the Range

Took my Pietta Colt 1851 Navy Civilian in .44 caliber (from Cabela's) to the range today and couldn't believe the results. Shooting .451 Speer balls over an Ox-Yoke wad and 25 grains of American Pioneer FFFg with Remington #11s, the pistol consistently put all six shots into a eight inch circle...

Pietta Remington Army "Shooters" Revolver from DGW

I've never done any muzzleloading, but am looking at the Pietta "Shooters" Remington Army from Dixie Gun Works RH0135 Remington Army "Shooters" I'd be grateful if anyone has any knowledge about this revolver that they care to share with a complete novice. First question, but certainly not...
