    Rifling in Remington M1863

Hello. I have a question to Civil War veterans  . My friend claims that Remongton M1863 Contract Rifle (so called Zouave) had a rifling with progress in depth. Could it be the truth? I know they were good but rather cheap rifles without any technical fireworks.

    First in-line system?

Firstly, the law is idiotic. Lots of modern inlines work on the same principles as the ancient ones. They are muzzleloaders with a nipple in the axis of the barrel, cups are fired by outside hammer. So, these guns should be treated like other replicas. Secondly, I have no intention to discuss...

    First in-line system?

Paulvallandigham thanks for interesting lecture about US Patent Law. Imagine folks, that according to weapon regulations of some European countries, muzzleloaders are divided for "historical" (include originals and replicas)and "modern". These "modern" muzzleloaders are in-line constructions...

    First in-line system?

Hi. :hatsoff: On the one of the shooting forums I've recently found something strange (at least for me): The only mark is "Billinghurst" on the scope. There is also a false muzzle to it. Would it be possible that it is one of the first in-line rifles, made in XIX century? Have you ever...

    Pedersoli Conversion

I converted my Pedersioli's Jeager and bought both lock and vent in Track of the Wolf. I think also for Dixie Gun it wasn't a problem (it's a little bit more expensive).

    MLAIC & shooting jackets

Hello folks! :hatsoff: As you know MLAIC allows to use shooting jackets during their competitions. Just like this one: It is a big controversy in my country, because most of competitions organizers claim that jackets aren't historically accurate and don't permitt them. There is also a fiery...

    Unknown muzlleloading copy

:)Of course, I live in Poland, Europe. I wonder, if there are any places called Poland in the USA? Since 01.01.2004 we can posses and use (only on shooting range) any firearms (and their replicas) produced before 1850 (some called us forty-niners :)). For the rest of weapon we have to have...

    Unknown muzlleloading copy

This copy is .45 caliber, 42 inches in lenght, with 26 inch octagon barrel. I think Swamp Rat is probably right(great book!). It can be one of Foster rifles. It looks very similar, even pattern on the lock is almost identical. Thanks for all your answers.
