    New gun

Hello all, Here are a few pictures of my newest purchase. I picked this up the other day for a song. It is a non American barreled CVA kit built rifle. I do not know who the builder was but like the last it has a ton of lumber that needs to be removed. My plan is to do the same things as I did...

Trying my hand at a TOTW patch knife.

Here is an update, I used five minute epoxy dyed it black with some paint, thinned the handles because they did seem out of scale for the blade. Here is a pic. Just waiting on the epoxy to dry then its off to shaping land!!

    Just picked up two Zouaves

Thanks Hawkeye, one thing that I have noticed is that the Replica arms rifles barrel is stamped Korea and that the Zoli gun is stamped Made In Italy. Also the Zoli gun is much heavier. I will take a closer look at the two tomorrow and post some pics. Df

Trying my hand at a TOTW patch knife.

Well since I have been in the mood of trying to make stuff I thought that I would try one of these knife kits. This one is call a patch knife by Track of the Wolf. Per the instructions I was to countersink the rivet heads flush with the handle wood. In the picture that is what you see. It seems...

New Guy making his first Horn

Scratch, well I call it scratch built, I did not raise or slaughter the steer though, bought the horn from Tandy and got the phenol from Hobby Lobby, attached a 3/8 dowel to the end. The large plug is also from Hobby Lobby, it was a 1" plaque that got cut down. Here is a picture after staining...

    Help with cleaning??

Thanks, I am using the bucket method as you have described. I only have used hot water with dish soap. Breach in bucket, brush, then patches till clean. It just seams that the p.o. never cleaned the rifle and there is a lot of residue still in the gun. I will follow all your advise and keep at...

    Help with cleaning??

Hello all, Total newb question here. After many hours of cleaning and I mean many. If I run my brush through the barrel and then a dry patch it comes up black. After six patches used on both sides it will come clean. Then run the brush through eight times and its back to a dirty patch. I have...
