Tru Oil Question
Take some 320 wet-dry sandpaper, and dunk it in the tru-oil. Sand small areas on the stock until you have a slurry of walnut dust mixed with the tru-oil sitting on the stock. thinking about getting a flinter...
I started out with a cap lock, and now own 3 flintlocks, and have zero desire to ever shoot another caplock gun. (Unless it were say an 1851 Navy Revolver or something like that.) I can't say that I know why... there's just something about a rock lock. :youcrazy:- MFordney

Pretty sure vinegar is an acid... the object is to neutralize the acid. Using vinegar will just add more acid to the equation. Interesting though, I didn't know ammonia was a base until I saw this. Sounds like ammonia is the way to go. :thumbsup:- MFordney
