A couple new knives, please tell me what you think!

Thanks! I love making anything, and looking at other things people have made. I'm not a big neck knife person, I like it on my hip. Oh, that's no fun. Must have been a nice gun:). Thank you very much sir!

Well any advice is appreciated that! That was a possible bag knife...a little sheath on your possibles bag to hold it...or a sheath on your belt too I guess. Thanks!

A couple new knives, please tell me what you think!

Thanks fans of the smaller knife! I'm definately going to point the tip and refine the shape on the next one I make like that. I made that one for a small handed friend, but all the big handed people like it too! I was surprised! Thanks guys!

A couple new knives, please tell me what you think!

Thanks! The bigger one has a good feel to it. The smaller one, I think I will refine the blade shape on my next one, better point, some of the stuff you pointed out. I've made 5 knives out of that steel and so far edge retention is good, I can shave with them when sharpened so I'm happy. I have...

A couple new knives, please tell me what you think!

Hey all! Here are 2 new knives, please comment or critique! Both blades are heat treated and tempered table saw blade steel. The first has walnut scales and is a 7.5 inch long utility knife. The 2nd seems to be well liked by many and is a tiny little 5 inch patch knife with koa scales. Please...

No problem! Glad you like it, copy away! They are dovetailed, not box joints. If you need dimensions or anything, let me know!

    Shooting Box

Ok, miscommunication...the wood isn't 1 inch thick! If you look on the very base of the box, you can see, faintly, a 1 inch strip of cherry. Better pics comming tonight. The actual base is oak, but the cherry was there to give it a neat layering effect

Use of sharpening "steels" on knives

I use a stone until it's sharp enough to remove hair, but using a steel refines the edge, it takes off any burr and helps even everything out. Also good for maintaining an edge.

    fitted wooden gun case

That would be very neat! I've done long gong shoots and stuff, but never over 300 yards....but I don't have a super fancy rifle:). We should propose that as a new sport!

    Shooting Box

Thabks! It has brass handles, I'll post more pics later. It has a redwood tray inside, it looks cool, I'll post pics of that too. I was going to do that actually! I'm brainstorming making inserts for it. Thank you!
