    Mike Davis is a personal friend of mine. He trained under Jack Garner, Herschel and Frank House. A fine gunsmith that built the CLA rifle last year. Bladesmith too. He helped the younger to get his finished , as a Southern Gentleman would.

    I'll try .562 round ball and get the bore reguaged. A gunsmith I know said he measured it with a brass bore measure. Maybe his piece is wore out. I'm new to rifles, been only shooting smoothies.

    I shoot a snapping lock made by Jurgen Kreckel. It's 1575 .72 cal, fishtail, witha 44" cannon mouth barrel. It also has a 16th century peep sight on it. A great gun' I can try to get some pics

    greetings

    I'm new to this forum , but not muzzloaders. Been shooting for now on 30 years. I live in the midwest , married 35 years 3 sons , 1 grandson. Been a reinactor of the F.&I. for 25 years. French as well as native personas. I build too. Only 18th century and before. I also love a good matchlock.
