    Waxing rifle stocks

Not being a real gunsmith, but having fixed a few stock over the years I have a simple rule. I never put on an original stock something that hasnt been put on it before. I do however experiment a bit on newly manufactured stocks (replicas). For example I have a 1887 Martini Henri that had a...

German Jaeger rifle by Martin Diem In Hasfurt

I have run a quick search in German language on the name and there is nothing. I also looked into recent German/Austrian firearms auctions and the name didnt come up. There is nothing online on weapons manufacture in Hasfurt. My take is that it must have been a very small producer, or short lived.

    Pedersoli Musketoon

I have found these pictures today and decided to share. They are 9 years old I believe since the Musketoon was bought before the 200th anniversary of the Battle of Waterloo. I have a habit to take pictures of new guns before they start to get used.

A very nice collection of Saxon firearms is in the fortress Torgau on the river Elbe. This beibg a former seat of the guard of the Saxon rulers. So these weapon are ornate but also military issue at the same time. There is a very nice book on the subject, that can be ordered online.

    Military miquelet pistol? Or......

Being a new member here Im not realy an expert on US firearms of the Revolution, but I would probably leave off the ramrod and forward band. These were considered very modern in 1800 - 1810s in military use in Europe. Probably too modern for a 1780s firearm.
