    Need tomahawk advise

John, about twenty years ago :shocked2: I ordered a 'hawk sight unseen, just because I liked the shape and the reviews. Got it from 'The Hawken Shop'. It's cast steel, tempered, with a soft back and really holds an edge. I have two girls that started throwing it at about 9y/o.(also about twenty...

    Reboring barrel

Hey Mark, Had to leave for supper, thanks for your reply. It is indeed a first class barrel...or was, until my nephew put it away without cleaning. :cursing: Not terribly pitted, but enough to have an effect on accuracy...(and enought that I almost 'pitted' the kid's head) LOL! Was my fault to...

    Reboring barrel

Hey Guys, Need some advice. Several years ago I built my daughter a rifle using a 7/8" Goodoien .32 barrel. Needless to say, its a might heavy (at the time I was watching recoil for a 16y/o). Can someone point me in the right direction to have it rebored to 45 or 50 cal? Thanks, Jim W

Not a deep layer, but easy to repeat if needed. You could also reheat to critical, quince in oil or...

    Stock Stain Ideas

An idea you might like to try, with the grain structure showing, you might want to use two to three different color stains sort of 'feathering' them between alternate growth rings. I was playing around with an old stock and was really impressed with the outcome. (Fun idea but I guess...

    Seeking unfinished C. Vincent rifle

Thanks for the reply, I talked with them last week about parts for one. I just sold the last one built (Lancaster) so have to depend on my TC Seneca until I can get back in a period correct manner. Actually Lancaster wasn't too bad, I think one just sees all the flaws from first builds! Jim

    Steinschlossbüchse 1723 in Maple?

Have to agree with other guys, grain looks more like walnut than maple (think of the grain structure of Claro). Whatever......that was a big tree/large stock blank those guys used back then, to find that even fiddleback pattern.
