    Breech Plug

Personally I would have it installed for $20. But personally I don't enjoy the metal work as much as I like the wood work in making a muzzleloader. Have fun!

Okay, I'm ready to build... Which kit?

I would definently go with the LYMAN GPR kit for my first...I did, and learned a lot. I have finished my third build now and plan on purchasing the Jim Chambers kit now...I still plan on ordering his DVD too...might learn something... Good luck!

    Removing pinned barrels

I have the exact same worry as you. As a result I don't ever unpin my barrel for cleaning...therefore I clean my muzzleloader with swabs and a breech scraper.

Hello, I am thinking about building a Jim Chambers Flintlock rifle...possibley the York. My question is how many shots can you get from a frizzen before it wears out, or is it even possible to wear a frizen out in a lifetime. The reason is I plan to shoot this gun a lot in competitions...

patch knives from a saw blade

Hi Hank, Can't wait to see your patch knives...when you post them. What are you using to cut the patch knife blades from the saw blade? The saw blade steel should make a fine patch knife. Nord

    Cleaning/Loading Rod

Ya an extention would work but it would be nice if it were a one peice rod. :hmm: I am sure there are others on the forum that shoot smooth bores with very long barrels. Actually the muzzleloader I am looking at is the Jim Chambers Smooth rifle with the 46" barrel.

    Cleaning/Loading Rod
