    Cap Maker questions

I use the acetone and glue mix. Haven’t had a failure yet. I just use pop cans double layer so I can’t comment on the copper sheet. I’ve got my die chucked up in my drill press. Works alot better than tapping with a hammer. Caps are uniform and it’s alot quicker.

    Making your own caps

I fold my cans in half, punch them out, charge them and seal with acetone/duco glue mix. Works great. No need to remove anything.

I bought the best caps ever made.

I saw #10’s at sportsman warehouse bout 2 weeks ago for $5.99, CCI. They haven’t had #11’s in over a year.

Barrel tenons for Kentucky Rifle Traditions

If you don’t use the brass spacer use a piece of walnut for contrast and keep the stock at length so the nose cap fits properly. I drilled the wood and tenons same time.

    My thoughts/opinions on cap making

I expanded my die with a 7/16” steel ball bearing from Rural King. Also ordered a 1” die holder with 1/2” shank for my drill press. Bound to work better than using a hammer.

Barrel tenons for Kentucky Rifle Traditions

I filed mine a little. Do yourself a favor and make that stock “one” piece. What i did was epoxied it 2 steel pins and the brass plate to the stock and forearm. I’ve had no movement issues. I drilled the tenon pin holes and didn’t elongate the wood at all.

    My thoughts/opinions on cap making

Yep, mine are at least twice as loud as the cci’s. Don’t know if that equals more power, but they sure sound good.

    My thoughts/opinions on cap making

Wonder if a good strong rare earth magnet would work to hold it in place?
