    An odd pachbox lid

This gun had a separate rolled hinge soldered to the lid and the other half of the hinge screws into the wall of the box cavity. So, you would need to roll hinges and cut the knuckles, make the lid cover then solder the two together.

    Kibler Fowler vs Trade Gun

There are some key differences. One of the biggest weaknesses of other fowling piece options is the large forestock. By this I mean it's height. Original (and therefore quality contemporary) work have forestocks with a thin web resulting in the height to be a minimum. The ramrod groove /...

    Kibler Fowler vs Trade Gun

I don’t really care if you like our products, I just value accurate information. I made the comment that our kits are better quality than other offerings and will finish into a better gun. You said maybe or maybe not. I am prepared to support my statement as to why this is true. If you...

Would you like to understand why? I’d be happy to help.

    Kibler Fowler vs Trade Gun

Just so you know, other options will result in a significantly lower quality final product. It’s not just how complete products are.

    English Rifle Finish

Spray paint will work fine to fill open grain. Also a good product is Constantines wood filler. We may start selling it or something similar. Black looks good in walnut as would more of a brown hue.

    Kibler Fowler vs Trade Gun

For those interested you might want to check out our recent youtube video discussing the historical context of these fowling guns we are selling. Seems there is generally some misunderstanding regarding trade guns, fowlers etc. Much of this is simply because of products available today and...

Kibler fowler - Has anyone shot round ball?

It has nothing to do with a 16 gauge not being able to shoot a round ball. The 20 gauge is just better for this since it has a thicker barrel wall resulting in better accuracy and less chance of issues should some bozo try to get center fire ballistics out of the thing

    Pedersoli Brown Bess ?’s

I appreciate your thoughts, but how in the world do you think you are in a position to know what our price point should be for profitability? You know nothing about our processes and business. You saying you’re an accountant means nothing. Might as well say your a garbage man.

    Woodsrunner Question?

I can say with a straight face that we offer the best value in traditional muzzleloading. As to the credit for customer wood, this is based on what our wood cost is per blank. Further dealing with customer wood can be problematic and there is a cost to it. As to the carving, it’s certainly an...

    Pedersoli Brown Bess ?’s

Lots of great information. I don't know much about military guns, so this has been really helpful. I would think our kit selling price for a Bess would be around $1450 - $1500. This is based on what we need to get for our fowler, plus some of the added complexity. It would be, however very...

    Chambers IH finished.

Looks nice. Only suggestion is to make another box lid. This is about twice as thick as it should be.

    Kibler Fowler vs Trade Gun

Yes, you could shoot a ball out of our fowler, I'd just suggest a 20 gauge would be a better choice. As to comparison with other offerings, all I can say is there really isn't any. Just being honest. Not just cosmetics... Better architecture (thinner web and appropriate forestock), better...

    Pedersoli Brown Bess ?’s

I'm not at all in with the crowd that buys Besses, but have wondered if it would be a viable product for us to make. What do you all think? Do you think with the 250th year coming up there would be increased demand?

    Woodsrunner Question?

All that means is that you’ve not worked on carved longrifles. Ever look at books?

My apologies that we missed your note. We offer the Colonial without a wood box, but the Woodsrunner only comes with a wood box. Jim
