    The powder ran out first...

I did take a rod but it's end was to small and a ran the risk of turning a thin card on its side so I abandoned it and used the guns. Thank you.

Negative, I went shooting direct from work. Early finish on a Friday. She has been out with me during other shooting activities this weekend despite me taking a fall backwards and cracking a rib! 🤦

Acquired a "Beretta" O/U with rare accessories

Awesome 😎 I'd not however remove the breech plugs. Seal them as per my post in the hunting section. Best wishes.

    They are indeed. Birch.

I don't think I mentioned purist. I do have an outhouse, no horse and do have electric. What I do like is simplicity. I find loading a muzzleloader as simple as possible adds to the enjoyment and I am perfectly happy with the performance loaded thus. Do you not think I jumped through all the...

I don't use plastic and don't worry about the lead, falls out with boiling hot water all by itself.

None of you noticed my new handmade clogs!

Not quite equal measures my friend. It was 3f so it said on the can. Looked finer to me 🤷. Yes these Berretta Tricentennial guns that are not Berretta at all, seems daft that Berretta would celebrate 300 years of gun making by not gun making! Anyway they can be troublesome on the bottom barrel...

Doesn't take to long once you get going.

They are wild and not driven. They love barley, especially when a field has just been cut. I don't know how they know but they come in droves from God knows where. You just need to look where they like on the field, make a blind and put some decoys out.

Wood pigeon. Not barn or feral pigeons. Yes, they are edible. Make good meatloaf and burgers.

    The powder ran out first...

....thus ended an epic (for me) pigeon shoot with a muzzleloader. 42 and everything is black, the gun, my clothes and my hands. The barrels are now full of lead so it gets the boiling water treatment later. Never missed a beat, not one missfire. I used about 60gn of 3f and 1oz of 7.5 shot...

Use to climb trees for them when she was younger! I don't know why dogs go nuts for squirrels but they do. Maybe God did it knowing what joy it would bring men!

    Squirrels on video...

....via a little help from Jess and the 45. Just 3/4 oz loads on 3f, thin cards greased with a mix of animal and vegetable fats. Oh and this smoothrifle has not been cleaned for months now! 😵 The gun is not rotting! Two down, happy hunter and happy dog. Large bores, large shot, 1 f.......🤣🤣

    Pedersoli Brown Bess ?’s

That vintage Pedersoli carbine came with browned barrel (I think). Most of it was worn off.

    Pedersoli Brown Bess ?’s

You do not need to buy anything to shoot a muzzleloader smoothbore other than powder, ball or and shot. You make your own wads from bear coasters or leather, card and whatever via a leather hole stamp. In the .750 Pedersoli Bess, 10g thin over shot cards will go down just about. I went for the...

    Trouble getting new fowler clean

Boiling water lifts the lead out but yeah don't worry about it. Do get the rem oil out of you may get ignition issues!
