    New Cherry burl stock

Finished my new Woodsrunner .54 stock. The original came with a cherry stock with carving in it. It was pretty but I could just never get used to the carving. They called me the other day and said they had found a piece of Cherry burl and asked if I wanted it. I finished it up today. 6 coats of...

    Fowler kicking my tail

Shazam……. I read an old post from 2008 where someone was using .570 balls in their 20 gauge. Went out back and loaded 60 grains with a .575 ball and .018 patch. First one was high so I moved the sight down a tad. Next 3 were touching I would have never tried that small a ball if I had not it on...

    Fowler kicking my tail

I have a 20 gauge Kibler and I can not get it to group at 50 yards. I had shot it at 25 and the best I could do was about 4" but last weekend we had to shoot the targets at 50 yards and I was all over the paper. Today I tried..... 60 grains of FF with a .018 patch 70 grains of FF with a .015...

    KIBLER WOODRUNNER TALL SITE

Just my opinion...... The normal sight is pretty much just for the folks that build a rifle just for looking at. They are really close to the barrel which causes problems once the barrel gets hot. The tall sight works much better for the folks that do a lot of shooting

    Highlighting grain in cherry stock

I have another Cherry stock coming for my woodsrunner. It has a lot of grain lines in it. The other 2 cherry stocks I have finished I used lime and then chambers oil. Is there a process I can use to highlight the figure? Something like you do with aqufortis on Maple.

I tried my hand at checkering...... I made a mess

Am I the only one who doesn’t really care for carving on a rifle stock?

I hope to get some of my money back by selling the carved stock to someone who has a regular woods runner and wants to upgrade to the carving. what do you suppose it should be worth?

    so hard to wait

I am dead set I am going to wait until gun season to shoot my deer this year. My problem is that I have a nice 10 point that has shown up on the little 60 acres I hunt. It is so tempting to go after him with my bow but if I kill him with my bow, he will be gone and then I can’t shoot him with my...
