    Joann's - what am I doing wrong ?

Here is pair of white and black striped ladies pants I picked up at the thrift store. They are 50/50 cotton linen. As soon as I saw them I knew what they would be used for. I soaked them in walnut dye. The brown and black striped cloth will look real sharp as the liner for a shooting pouch flap...

    Favorite caliber to shoot

If this was the 18th century, people would say you got a witch in the barrel. Draw picture of a witch in charcoal on a barn door and shoot her with a ball with some silver in it. You could also write out a incantation to expel the witch and put it under the butt plate of your gun. I love the old...

    Joann's - what am I doing wrong ?

I commonly go to the thrift store to get my cloth, mostly in the ladies department. I take my micrometer with be and look through the shirts mostly, sometimes the pants and dresses. I find every kind of cloth I need for patching and other projects made from cotton drill and pure linen in...

    .45 Caliber: Deer?

.45 isn't enough round ball for a large bodied ohio deer. We are talking 300 pounds with huge thick bones and a .45 won't penetrate.. A small yearling would be fine . a .45 here in my state.. Ohio Rusty ><>

    Fess Parker Recalled d.2010

I had gotten a plastic log cabin from log cabin syrup company ( sent in my filled out receipt and $1.50) and it fit perfectly over a card table. I don't know how many times I relived Davy Crockett in that little log cabin. Ohio Rusty ><>

    Ordering cannon fuse

Things have changed since I was a kid. We always went to the local hobby shop to get our rocket engines and the cannon fuse to light them. I don't know if your local hobby shop sells cannon fuse. It is worth looking into so you don't have any mailing hassles. Do they charge hazmat for that ?

    New Crocket .32 Squirrel Rifle

I ordered mine last fall and I was pleased how well the rifle fit me. The Length of pull (LOP) was perfect for me. The bad thing about mine someone dropped it on the floor before putting it in the shipping box and the front sight was badly bent over. You would have thought the person that dropped...

    Weighing round balls

I weight every round ball I cast. If they have a void or bubble in the ball, the round ball flys off center. If they are off my more than +1 grain, back into the pot they go. It is no issue just to cast more, weigh them and get proper weight round ball. Ohio Rusty ><>

    RWS #11 In stock

Back on March 6th Powder Valley had a one day free hazmat. I missed that one. If you have any vendors you use, you may write them and ask them if they have a free hazmat day coming in the future. That would be a savings on the cost of caps. Ohio Rusty ><>

    Skychief question

I'll be using #5 shot in my Skychief load because I have more than 10 pounds of #5's. 5 shot should be fine for turkey. I once took a turkey and when cleaning the turkey, it was peppered under his skin all over one side with lots of small shot. None of it went deeper than under the skin. It...
