What Muzzleloading Stuff Did You Do Today?

Gorgeous. Well done indeed. Is that a design copied from an original hors, or is it your own? I really like it. 'Tis a treasure forever.

    Kibler screwed me

I used my box for to brown the barrel. Put a weak lightbulb in it and placed wet sponges, covered it with the lid. Worked great if you card the metal every 22 hours and reapply the solution. Took about 4 days and the barrel looks like the underside of a Hershey bar. With all that rust brown it...

    Ramrod Striping??

At the range where I'm gonna be loading and shooting numerous times I use a dowel rod for loading. The end contacting the ball is concave, a simple procedure with a Dremel or pocket knife. I even stained and sealed it to keep the wood from deteriorating. I've used the same down for years...

    Ramrod Striping??

I did it once on a cheap Hawken style. Looked good but I don't think I would want to call attention to the rod on a really nice longrifle.

    WANTED RamRod Puller

I never heard of such a contraption. That seems pretty me a problem that doesn't occur often enough to justify carrying whatever gets the ramrod unstuck, but remembering to the 70's it happened to me. My state announced an early deer season for muzzleloaders. I rushed out and bought one for...

    WASP NEST WADDING?

Wasp and hornet nests might be the same material, but the wasp home is full of all those round holes for whatever reason. I'd think the hornet material would be more viable but I don't know, never used either.

Do You Actually Use Your Expensive Custom Guns or Keep Them as Safe Queens?

I use all my BP guns. A lot. But I have an unmentionable in 20 gauge with a bright nickel finish and the prettiest walnut I've ever seen. Not real expensive but oh so gorgeous. It is displayed high above my living room window out of reach without a ladder or high step stool. I will never shoot...

    Alaska Dave in Florida

Welcome from Ormond Beach, FL. You were fortunate to live in Alaska as long as you did. Wow, what a difference in temperature and landscape you have now.

Do you display your flintlock or other guns in your home

Yep, mine are in the living room. My prettiest one on the mantle of the brick fireplace. Also have two cartridge rifles and a gorgeous double barrel 20 gauge high on two different walls. My BP revolver on an antique tea cart along with some of the wife's vintage dishes.

Taking a flintlock i to the RSA

Are you talking about sneaking bp into another country for use in a muzzleloader, using the brass cartridges to transport it illegally? If so, there is your answer; it is illegal.
