    I shine a small light down to reflect off of a flat faced breech plug that is flat and shiny with no notches or tool marks whatsoever. Yea they are clean and the patches show it.

    If you get the smaller profile barrel you have to inlet the luck much deeper to get it to mate against the side of the barrel.

    IH Issac Haines LH Lite weight. Took a year to get it. What weight barrel are you getting, if a B weight you will have so extra work . C and D won’t really be an issue.

    Final assembly today. Ram rod needs finished bit it fits. This is the lite weight 45 rice square cut American heritage barrel. Tracks auqafortis and BC tru oil , 10 coats rubbed back each time with steel wool then rubbing compound on final then paste wax. Trigger pull at 2lb 4oz.

    Also be sure the bore and or patch isn’t dry as popcorn. It needs some sort of slickness to reverse.

    Also try picking before you pour the powder. You will find what’s best for that particular gun by trying different methods. A good flint that throws sparks directly into the center of the pan is had to debate.
