    Wall mounted rifle display

I have in excess of 15 long guns on display throughout my house. Plus the not visible ones that I have available to greet unwelcome visitors (although a flintlock is right there just incase I get a chance to use it…maybe…hopefully…) God Bless Texas.

FOR SALE Euroarms Enfield Naval Pattern "2 Band" Rifle

While the furniture is not right or correct for the WBTS use…the five groove rifling certainly is. This rifling in the ‘58 Navy rifle combine with the English Cartridge (Pritchett) bullet certainly was used to good effect. The rifle and this load was the precision rifle of the Confederate Army.

    SOLD Brown bess bayonet

Great article in Muzzleloader about turning a bayonet into a riflemans knife. Now I need a bayonet…

    SOLD .44 Kentucky flint pistol

Never had the barrel out of the stock, nor do I intend to remove it. The barrel is as finely crafted as any I have ever examined. Not home today, but will remove and photograph the lock tomorrow and add the pics here. It sparks like a shooting star. Pic added of lock. Used the flash to enhance...

Reduced to $1,000 shipped before I start listing it elsewhere back at $1,200. This is your chance to grab it now! Edit to add…if you need to pay half down and half in a few weeks I am flexible. I been there…

    SMRs and long barrels

In modern internal ballistics the more resistance you have in the bore, the more the pressure spikes behind the bullet, this pressure spike leads to higher velocity. It also leads to less accurate (due to this: inconsistent velocity) shooting. You see this most often when using monolithic...

    SMRs and long barrels

I’m sorry, I thought this thread was about SMR’s…but yes you are correct, the coastal forrest areas of Kentucky and Tennessee and West Virginia had all been cleared by then…

The OP’s post and question reminded me instantly of this pic…

How often do you guys take apart and oil your locks?

Literally never. Toothbrush and a little oil when cleaning the rifle. Grease on the small edges that touch each other and back on the gun.

    SMRs and long barrels

All interesting points. However, the old growth forests of the 18th and 19th century were much more open than what we understand as normal now. Mature forrest’s had less undergrowth and fire was the prime management mechanism, and a very good one.

SOLD FS: Southern Mountain Rifle/Poor Boy .54 - LOWER PRICE

Sam, Folks will want to know barrel length. If you can take some pics outside in good light that will help also. Good price.

    SMRs and long barrels

The very first thing that comes to mind is that government and military buyers are never at the leading edge of anything…being mired in the past and their own prejudices is completely well documented. You sight an example of a single Govt contract in 1818. Perhaps the Indians those Derringers...

    Trade gun rear sight

Brass rear sight on my Bess Carbine. Got it from Track. Very shallow dovetail, but it not a big deal since there is plenty of meat there. I plan to restock this gun eventually into something like a ranger carbine. (I know…whatever that is)

Place holder for a pic of the rear sight on my Bess carbine…

Black Powder Banned at my Gun Club!

Just another Tactical Tommy range. They don’t want people to come shoot, they want to sell their classes. Dime-a-dozen and they will be gone fairly soon just like all the others.

    SOLD .44 Kentucky flint pistol

Thanks. I’m a shooter and a hunter, not a museum curator…I have to force myself to remember that sometimes.

More pics… In the muzzle pic you see stuff on the metal…that’s dust from the cushion it was on.
