Where to FindSteel Hardware for a T/C Hawken

As durable as bluing or browning? Well, like anything else it will depend upon use. Using a blued or brown rifle enough and the edges will wear. I'm very happy with the performance and durability of the product. Now, what I did was (using some fine steel wool) "knocked back" some of the...

    Vent hole location?

I posted this pic on another thread. This is my T\C Hawken after installing a Green MT "drop in" barrel. The ignition is fast and consistent. The vent liner is one that has an Allen opening in the front for install\removal. Vent liner like this one...

    Flintlock Rifle Flash Hole Placement

No. That touch hole liner that has an allen hex for install\removal. https://rmcoxyoke.com/product/rmc-flintlock-touch-hole-liner-replacements/ Plus the camera angle makes the hole look like you could drive your car through it.

Where to FindSteel Hardware for a T/C Hawken

Consider doing what I did to my T\C. I'm not a fan of brass on a hunting rifle so I took the T\C brass, sanded off that "finish stuff" the factory applied to the brass, then using a brass blacking solution, made it all black. BTW, the triggers and trigger guard in the photo are repro's of a real...

    Flintlock Rifle Flash Hole Placement

I know I'm late to the party here.....but here's a pic of my T\C Hawken after I installed a Green MT. "drop in" barrel. The gun ignites very consistent with no noticeable lag. BTW.....best thing I ever did for that rifle was the new GM barrel.

    Roundballs verses Conicals..??

I hunt with either a 50 cal or 54 cal. From the 50 all I shoot are Hornady Pa Conicals with 90% of that gunk lube they use wiped off. For the 54 all I hunt with are Lyman 533-476, hollow base, Minie lubed with SPG. Both barrels are GM with 1-70 (or thereabout) twist. Both the Pa Conical and the...

    Vent hole location?

I'd advise as others have, grind a bit off the front of the pan to open that up. Be careful that you don't grind off to much that when the pan is closed you have a gap for the powder to fall out.y I'd buy that rifle if the price was right. The close up pic of the barrel showing its finish...

I spy a bicycle tire light generator!! I haven't seen one of those in decades!!

Starting my winter pistol build early

So, I'm using the broken cast piece to form "dies" out of maple scraps. I've cut the brass sheet (.80) and began to peen it. I will say, this is the first buttcap I've ever done. And I want it a bit deeper or "cup like" so that takes more pounding. I have discovered that it's not a "fold up...

Customizing the Traditions Kentucky rifle kit

Looks very nice! Just a suggestion....but everyone likes what they like.....but you may think about using a lighter color stain on your ramrod. Instead of matching the stock like you have done, a lighter RR gives a visual appearance of a slimmer forend.

    Blackening

I used inletting black and your right.....it gets everywhere no matter how careful I get. I've also used sharpies which I like better than inlet black, but my favorite is just candle soot.

    Blackening

This (to me) seems to be an odd method of a transfer material. Why would you want to subject your wood to soaking up old motor oil?

anyone having trouble getting on A.L.R.??

I hat tech when it doesn't work! Ok.....now I "sometimes" get an ALR page....but only once. If I refresh or attempt to click a thread, I get the can't find server message. I'm thinking since it's not just me, ALR may have changed something. And now people with given equipment will have an...

anyone having trouble getting on A.L.R.??

Well, I tried something that actually worked. I turned off wifi on my laptop and my iPhone. Then the phone went into a "hotspot" and I linked by laptop to the phone's hotspot. That just downloads data via the verizon system and not wifi. But....I can access ALR with no problems. But as soon as...
