will these caps work in a typical zouave rifle

I just received 600 RWS caps from muzzle-loaders.com Also you can get a new nipple (I would suggest the Track of the Wolf Stainless Steel musket nipple) and those fit the Scheutzen/RIO Musket caps well also Both are still in stock as of this post.

@necchi Excellent point. I share my experience in the above simply because I am a hunter and that is where my experience leads me. But you are right. The drum beating gets old, no matter the "beat". Different strokes for different folks.

The Items of Faith. The Dogma of Muzzleloading.com

There is a very set dogma here and shame on ANYONE who violates that dogma. You must be a true believer. You MUST only shoot the Round Ball, magic pill of death. You MUST only use Black Powder (no subs). You MUST never exceed 70 to 80 grains of powder, "you simply don't need to"...

Velocity vs pressure. Am I gonna kill myself?

Been doing ml for about 55 years of my 68 years.. I guess I would call it sticking to it. I will say again, shoot what you want, I will shoot what I want. But, hey, thanks for the fan boy diatribes . T7 works for me.. Thank you very much.

Velocity vs pressure. Am I gonna kill myself?

Well, in SW Idaho you can't readily find black powder for one. The storage requirements in Ada county are prohibitive for the retailers. All you can find are the subs. I not sure where Gunpa lives in Idaho, but I suspect he is right here in the same boat as I am.

    Accuracy Issues

I concur that lube made no difference from one sitting to another, unless the lube had dried and caked on his conicals. But lube does make a significant difference in accuracy. I also concur on the OP wad would help, but again, it doesn't explain why the change from one sitting to another...

Velocity vs pressure. Am I gonna kill myself?

T7 is much cleaner and easier to clean. Additionally Black Powder cannot be had where I live....that's why. Shoot what you want, I shoot what I want. I use musket caps and do not have hangfires.

Velocity vs pressure. Am I gonna kill myself?

Are you chronographing the loads to match the velocity or just going on bullet placement? Bullet placement doesn't necessarily exactly correlate to velocity Complicated question....there is a correlation between pressure (the force that builds to make the bullet gain speed) and Velocity. Here...

    Accuracy Issues

Yes, but that doesn't change accuracy from one sitting to another. When something is good, then all of a sudden changes to bad, you got to find out what the change was. See OPs original post...excerpts below: "Well I've got a pedersoli Hawken hunter in 54 cal that has always been a 2-2.5" at...
