There isn't any solution to availability except ordering your max 50 lb allotment.omline, or putting an ATF approved powder magazine on the property, getting licensed and selling to others, or making your own. All doable solutions.- 4575wcf

Throw the 777 on the flower bed, make buy, borrow, or steal some blackpowder. Why fight the gun to make it work with a propellant it is not designed to use? Am I missing something?- 4575wcf

.45 caliber RB enough for deer?
I have the RCBS minie ball mold for the .45 that I bought many moons ago. I have never tried it in the round ball rifled under hammer, but perhaps I will. If it gives acceptable accuracy I could move my "harvestable" range out from about 60-80 yards to 150 max.- 4575wcf

CCI has long been the last choice for primers, and I doubt their percussion caps fare much better. Their shotgun primers have always suffered from hard cups that will misfire occasionally an an unmentionable that does not have a very healthy hammer strike.
