    I was impressed the fit and finish was beautiful, as I have read on this forum that some folks feel the Pietta was not as well finished as the Uberti. I have to say this one is every bit as finished as my Uberti.

    Walked into cabelas a couple weeks ago and they had one bp pistol. The price was right and I needed a belt pistol as my Walker amd Dragoon are a bit too heavy for carrying around camp. Finally got out to shoot it. This is the first 6 balls at 20 yards, I am very pleased with the accuracy...

    It does drop acassionaly, if I keep the load around 35 gr. it will not drop. But whats the fun in that? Am looking for a 1860 Army just so I can shoot a much lighter load, just to save on powder. Also so I can carry it on the hip. The Walker and Dragoon are a tad heavy.

    I was very lucky, walked in Sportsman warehouse mid summer, and couldn't believe they had just received it. Out the door with military discount 417! Must gave been my day. Havent seen any bp guns there since. Some of the wierd in line stuff is all.

    Did not like the red finish that was on my Uberti 3rd model Dragoon. So removed it with citrus remover. Then applied coats of tru oil. Love the look! Doesnt look so plastic. Also installed Slixshot nipples. Will shoot tomorrow and see how well they work.

    I own a Uberti 3rd model Dragoon, my nipples tend to end up inside the frame causing all sorts of trouble. Is there a fix.

    I am very humbled by the comments of you all. In the process of ordering more horns. Very difficult to get horns that are good enough to build a nice horn with. Most have different issues that are difficult to work around. But will continue to build, thanks again for the encouragment.

    Not sure who directed me to VTI Gun Parts but a big thanks to him. I ordered and received a new bolt spring in 3 days! And I live in Nevada. It fixed the problem!
