Spent nipple problem

I own a Uberti 3rd model Dragoon, my nipples tend to end up inside the frame causing all sorts of trouble. Is there a fix.

Do you mean spent caps? Terminology is all-important here.

Holy cow, ya, I meant caps. This only happens with the dragoon, not the walker.

I found that assertively cocking the hammer usually overcomes this issue.

Colts can be prone to cap sucking--even the 3rd Dragoon. Many fixes. Sometimes you can
solve it with hand rolls, nipple changes or improving hammer face. Try a search here on
forum.

If you want to be able to shoot quickly, a cap post (also called a "rake") is "standard equipment" on race guns! It pretty much eliminates spent caps/ frags from jamming the action. Cap guns can even be "fanners" if setup properly. Not that you would be into fanning, just having the ability to do so means you can do anything you want to at that point!
It's definitely not something you can do ( on a normal basis) with an out of the box Italian revolver.
