    New horn project

I look at every horn I get and it's left hand carry or I get another one LOL. Some of the simple single curve horns hang fine on either side though.

    Follow through

Dry fire, a LOT, like Mike said, put a piece of wood in the **** and shoot the light switches in your house, then the screws that hold the switch plates on, shoot everything in your house, get a HARD front sight focus and dry fire. If you take that same thing you do in the house to the range...

Sometimes you just have to laugh at yourself!

I am laughing with you, not at you. It is said around my working area that new and ultra foul curse words are created when things like that happen, sailor raised by a sailor so the potential for it to be true is at least 50%.......

    Flintlock Kit

I will echo the others, do not get the lock inlet on the Pecatonica, it is far more work to correct the location than to put the lock in the right place to start with. I would 100% advise NOT getting the trigger/s inlet either, it is again far more work to correct than to do it correctly in the...

    Another new project

WOW, what a transformation. I have one at the house I am working on, looks a lot like your 'before' pictures. If mine comes out half as nicely colored as yours I'll be happy.

    Ramrod hole correction?

My first entry pipe took me at least 6 hours, they can be confusing if you don't know what you are doing and I didn't know at all what I was doing. I ended up putting masking tape around the end in a single layer, and rounding it over the end just a little, maybe 1/8". Then I put a mark on the...

Frizzen (aka hammer) won't open fully when the flint strikes it.

Yes it should open fully and stay open, post some pictures of your lock at half **** and the frizzen closed. It could just be the flint needs adjusted forward or back and maybe the bevel flipped over.

    SOLD .530 mould

Do you know if the Lyman or Saeco handles fit these blocks?

    LMF browning/blueing so far...

Just keep rusting, boiling and carding, the copper color won't be an issue.

Powder Granulation for percussion target accuracy

If you have a CO2 unloader or an air compressor load and then unload a couple balls into a box full of towels, if you don't want to waste powder load them on a wad of tissue and use the same compression you would on powder. I did this and found out I was being really really hard on the ball...

    Block plane

I don't think sharpen later is a good plan, you need to have the stuff to sharpen it when you get it, and it will NEVER be too sharp. It will be dull often enough though.

A new $200 insurance delivery fee????????????

Zelle isn't the problem, I use it regularly for transactions with people I know and it is handy has heck, it works exactly like it is supposed to. I also use it with people I don't know, say I am standing in front of you and we negotiate a price on something, I can Zelle you and you can hand me...

    Thinking about buying this Flinter

Personally, I don't like the mixed brass and iron, I don't care for brass on this type rifle at all but that's my opinion. It looks like it's nicely finished and put together though, and if you need a wrong sided rifle I know the options are limited, if it was right handed and I could get it...

Excellent haversack by Dave Hasler Art!

His work is really really nice to spectacular. An artist for sure.

What is the smallest size diameter ramrod brass pin that can be found?

It doesn't need to be all that strong if you aren't pulling a ball, brass pin would be fine for patches and jags I think. Brazing rod is what I have used in the past, I'm pretty sure mine is 1/8 diameter. That said I use steel pins on everything now because I might have to pull a ball, I make...

    Pin size and pics

If any recoil gets into the pins it will break the stock. There just isn't enough wood in the stock to take any punishment. The gun would have to be built really badly for that to happen though. The tang really shouldn't be taking any punishment either, the barrel and plug should transfer all...
