    Kibler Pennsylvania Rifles

That's kind of what I was thinking. I had a nice .54 years ago from Jack Garner, but like a fool, I sold it. Been wanting another one for a while.

    Kibler Pennsylvania Rifles

A local guy has built a nice Kibler flinter that he's wanting to sell. It is in near perfect condition and works flawlessly. The wood is a high-grade maple with beautiful curling throughout. Brass hardware as commonly used during the time period that this rifle was modeled after. This is a...

    What gun do you save?

Half of my gun collection are those made prior to 1890, therefore I'd have to figure out how to quickly move 50 guns. The "unmentionables" could be replaced, for the most part. My wife says I'd grab them before her...and I tell her, "Honey, you can walk, they can't!"

Historical military style rifled muskets poll

I started out re-enacting the Civil War and have a Euroarms Enfield 3 bander. Upon further research, I found that the unit I portrayed (81st Penn) extensively used the 42 Springfield even though that had the opportunity to swap them out for 61 Springfields. So, I bought me an original 42, which...

Duck Hunting with an Original Fowler

From what I've read, they now add about 6% tin to the bismuth to help solve the brittle pellet problem.

Duck Hunting with an Original Fowler

I know with steel shot, you shouldn't use full choked barrels, but I'm assuming that doesn't apply to Bismuth?

Duck Hunting with an Original Fowler

Right? I may try the plastic shot cup. I've used them before in my black powder cartridge shotguns and they do leave residue, but for the amount of shots I'd get off, it shouldn't be too bad. With my black powder cartridge shotguns, I'd cut the bottom plastic part off so I was left with just the...

Duck Hunting with an Original Fowler

Back in the old days I did, but with the DWR mandating steel shot for waterfowl, I was a little apprehensive. I guess I could always load lead and pack steel incase I was stopped and checked for any reason. ;)

Duck Hunting with an Original Fowler

I have a few original fowlers/shotguns (both single and double barrel) and was thinking of trying them on duck. I'm thinking steel shot would be hard on those old barrels, but what have any of you done in this situation. I know bismuth may be an option, but it is expensive. I do own a...
